non-combat has X+2 instead of X |

The stairway leading to the next room is blocked by a giant floating mass of ears. This must be the dreaded Beast with (X + 2) Ears you've heard so much about.

This is a gigantic floating mass of ears.
"Hmmmm," you think to yourself as it floats toward you. "What would Mr. Blonde do?"
Hit Message(s):
The Beast expands and contracts rapidly, shooting out a powerful stream of earwax that hits you in the <head>. Ugh. Ouch! Argh! Ouch! Ooh! Ooh!
The Beast forms a tight seal around your <head> with one of its ears, and squeezes, giving you a painful hickey. Argh! Eek! Ouch! Ooh! Argh!
You've heard of being boxed in the ear, right? Well, what happens to you next is like that, only backwards. Argh! Argh! Ow! Ooh! Ow!
The Beast expands and contracts rapidly, shooting out a powerful stream of earwax that, thankfully, misses you completely.
The Beast tries to poke you with one of its ear hairs, but you deftly dodge. Then you think about how cool the phrase "deftly dodge" is, and consider changing your name to Deftly Dodge.
The beast floats toward you, but somewhere outside a car backfires and the beast cringes instead of injuring you. (FUMBLE!)
You gain Y <substat>. |
Occurs at Fernswarthy's Basement.
Notes
- X is equal to the monster attack.
- You can fight it for 50 rounds, instead of the usual 30.
- This monster is a boss and cannot be copied or insta-killed by normal means. Bosses are also immune to many other mechanics.

- "Mr. Blonde" is a character played by Michael Madsen in the 1992 Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs, who saws off the ear of a captured police officer with a straight razor in a torture scene.
