The main feature of this room is a gigantic magnifying glass hung from the ceiling, which focuses the sun's rays into a superhot dot of light that is centered, probably not coincidentally, on the switch that opens the exit. How are the sun's rays are getting into an underground dungeon? Um... magic.

- The failed attempt message refers to the common phrase "At least it's a dry heat," said by Easterners referring to the low-humidity state of Arizona; the phrase is also used sarcastically by natives. It could also be a reference to this Red Meat webcomic.
- This adventure shares its name with the Violent Femmes song, Blister in the Sun.
- Part of the successful attempt message is taken from the Velvet Underground song entitled "White Light/White Heat", which includes the lyric "White heat, aww white heat it tickle me down to my toes".
