Category talk:Gelatinous Noob Skill Items
From A KoL Wiki
I'd like to express doubt that 125 new categories is a good way for this wiki to map Gelatinous Noob skills to items. Are we going to expect every single non-equipment item on the wiki to have a proper Gelatinous Noob skill category? Isn't it enough for the Gelatinous Noob page to have an external link to this amazingly useful tool? --Bale (talk) 19:37, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
- Ezandora's tool is indeed awesome. But external tools come and go, and I don't see why having the mapping info in the wiki as well is a problem. The categorization that drives the mapping done here is fully automatic, and (once the notoriously sluggish updates from the job queue finish) should stay up to date with no burden on anyone. What's not to like? --Fig bucket (talk) 20:10, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
- If it's being autocat'd, that's fine in my opinion. Might be better as a hidden category? As long as we don't have to do a bunch of manual busywork, I'm not against it. --billybobfred (talk) 20:11, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yes indeed, autocat all the way. I'm less sure of hiding the categories---the category names themselves aren't aesthetic admittedly (being based on numbers), but without a category link on the item page it's much less convenient to find out whether an item maps to a skill, and if so which one. --Fig bucket (talk) 02:11, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
