I wonder, since these items are removed from one's inventory upon ascension and they can't be traded, how does one collect more than one of these? For instance: BoozerBear has 6 quantum eggs and HotStuff has 2 Frobozz Real-Estate Company Instant House (TM). --Woemwoem 05:49, 5 September 2006 (CDT)
I believe it has something to do with BoozerBear and HotStuff both being relentless in their probing of the Kingdom's coding. More than likely, they hacked an extra egg or house into their display case, told Jick about it, and he removed the bug, but let them keep their e-penisey six eggs or two houses. --Shokwave 07:26, 5 September 2006 (CDT)
Quest Items You Can Sell
I think it would be very useful to have a page listing the Quest Items that you can do something about before ascending. For example:
- The Evil paper umbrellas will disappear when you ascend, and you can't keep them by making them into drinks (since the drinks also disappear). But you can autosell them (53 meat apiece), or drink the drinks for adventures.
- The Dwarvish parchment and the other items for that quest are sellable for a small amount.
- You can't keep the quest keys between ascensions - unless you make them into Key Limes or Key Lime Pies.
- You can untinker the meat car and keep the parts (or autosell them).
Having all this info on a single page would be useful when trying to figure out if you've done everything you ought to do before leaping into the rift. --Kilyle 08:34, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- The question is, why? Is there really an use for a page dedicated to only four things to do before you ascend? In any case, the stuff about the meatcar is already on its page. I know I read something about key limes before as well, although I'm not completely sure. Also, will you ever be so desperate for 795 meat that you'll need reminding to sell evil umbrellas? I doubt it. --CG1:t,c,e 10:24, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well, it's not so much the extra meat or anything, it's more that niggling feeling of "Did I forget to do anything?" Like when you go on vacation and even after you've packed the whole car, you get this idea that you're only going to remember (whatever it is) once you're on the road, and it drives you nuts trying to think it out before you get that far. Plus, getting a page like this started would make for a good place to check back should anything more useful get added with regard to quest items you can do something about. (And technically, when I'm running around trying to think of what I'm missing, I'm wasting more time than I am meat, so this page would save time.) --Kilyle 17:15, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- It also sounds like a personal preferences kind of thing. I have a checklist I follow every ascension that starts with what to take out of Hangk's (during SC runs), when to start all quests (including optional ones), what to stick in the display case at the end, which skill I'm planning to perm, trophies and/or tattoos I'm planning to get, and what items to autosell. I'd post it here, but it's written for my bot and lists items only by id number, so it probably isn't useful to anyone else. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:13, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
