Cleansing your Palette

Next to an easel in the gallery, you spy a paint-splattered palette. As you near it, it shuffles behind the easel, revealing itself to be a paint-splattered turtle!

This one's going to be tricky. Are you creative enough, inspired enough, and pretentious enough to tame it?

Artfully tame it

You hide behind an easel, disguising yourself as a different easel. You creep closer and closer to the painted turtle until you're finally in arm's reach.

History

• Prior to the Turtle Taming revamp, Eau de Tortue needed to be active in order to receive this adventure, and a lot of work was required to tame the turtle:
  • If one did not have a Grinning Turtle or Syncopated Turtle as their active familiar they received this message:

    You scratch your chin, pondering the situation and trying to figure out the correct approach to the taming. In scratching your chin, however, you spook the turtle, rendering all of your pondering irrelevant on account of it having scurried out of sight.

  • If did have a Grinning Turtle or Syncopated Turtle as their active familiar but didn't have a turtling rod equipped they received this message:

    You send <familiar name> around behind the easel to distract the turtle while you plan your next move.
    
    You slowly creep toward the distracted turtle, but you step on a paintbrush, cracking it and making a loud noise that scares the turtle away. Dangit!

  • If one had all of those requirements met, they received this message:

    You send <familiar name> around behind the easel to distract the turtle while you plan your next move.
    
    You prop yourself up on your turtling rod, disguising yourself as a different easel. You creep closer and closer to the painted turtle until you're finally in arm's reach.
