The death ray self-destructs, despite a last-minute intervention by all of its loved ones. Undeterred by that tragedy, you continue to explore the ship.
You walk into another large chamber on the ship and promptly fall ass over teakettle (why were you carrying around a teakettle, anyway?) on the floor, which is coated with a thick layer of ice. A large grate overhead is spewing out snow, and cyborgs are ice-skating, making snowmen, and having snowball fights.
As you gape at the winter wonderland in front of you, a cyborg skates into you and knocks you over. "We regret collision with inferior human creature," it says, and then hands you a brightly-wrapped package. "We desire that you experience the unpredictable human emotion known as happiness this Crimbo."
You unwrap the package and see that it contains a targeting chip for a laser cannon. You'll shoot your eye out!

As you exit, the entrance hatch seals shut behind you and the entire ship powers down. Looks like it's going into power-save mode for the night.
Occurred in A Sinister Dodecahedron after the eighth death ray in a pear tree.
