There's something about this pie that freaks you out, and you're not sure what. I mean, 'lights' in this context just means 'guts,' and that's what you'd expect in a minced-meat pie, and you'd much rather they be dead than alive. But still, something's off about it.
Oh, right, there's the fact that it's floating a few feet off the ground. And there's the spooky blue light that's shining from within, that makes you start sobbing for no reason when you look into it. Yeah, that's pretty freaky.
