Drippy House on the Prairie

From A KoL Wiki

Drippy House on the Prairie
Drippy House on the Prairie

You come upon a house-shaped mass, jutting obscenely out of the spongy floor of The Drip.

Or, after you've discovered the house:

You find yourself in that house again. At least... you think it's the same house. Everything in here looks the same.

Explore the house

If this is your first visit to the house:

Even though the house doesn't have a door, you check under the mat for a key anyway. You don't find one, but you do find a little puddle of those Driplet things Jeremy told you about.

You acquire 10 Driplets

If this is your second visit:

Just inside the door of the house, you discover a colony of nasty bat-looking things nesting in the rafters.

If this is your third visit:

In one of the side rooms of the house, you find a giant spiral shell stuck to the wall. You pry it loose -- Jeremy will probably want to see this.

You acquire an item: drippy snail shell

If this is your fourth visit:

In the house's kitchen, you find a bucket underneath a dripping sink pipe. The oddly-solid drops make a -thunk-... -thunk-... -thunk-... sound as they fall.

If this is your fifth visit:

In the backyard of the house, you notice a strange fruit tree you hadn't seen before. It's maybe... plums? Kinda hard to tell, what with everything being made out of the same gross stuff.

If this is your sixth visit:

In one of the back rooms, you find a workbench covered in drippy woodworking supplies.

If this is your seventh visit:

Underneath a shattered bed frame in one of the back rooms, you find a trap door in the floor. You press your ear to it and hear some... Thing... slithering around underneath it.

If you have noticed the bats:

Dislodge some bats

You flush some of the vile bat-things out of the rafters and into the nearby forest. No way that'll come back to bite you in the ass!

If you have found the bucket in the kitchen:

Check the bucket under the sink

You look in the bucket and find a few Driplets. You collect them and put the bucket back under the sink.

You acquire 2−4 Driplets

If you have noticed the strange fruit tree:

Pick a nasty fruit

You pluck the least nasty-looking plum(?) from the tree and pocket it.

You acquire an item: drippy plum(?)

If you have found a workbench:

Check out the woodworking bench

You use the tools to carve your truncheon into a sharp stake.

You acquire an item: drippy stake

If you do not have any drippy truncheons:

The woodworking tools are nice, at least they would be if they weren't all drippy. Unfortunately you don't have any appropriate wood to work.

If you have found the trap door:

Go down to the basement

Fight The Thing in the Basement!

Leave

You can't think of anything useful to do here, so you leave.

Occurs in The Dripping Trees.

Notes

  • This adventure occurs after every 15 adventures in this location, starting on the 16th, then the 31st, then the 46th, et cetera. Ascending resets this interval counter to 0, but does not reset any options unlocked by exploring the house.
  • Each option can only be chosen once per day.
  • Choosing to explore the house keeps you in the choice adventure, but every other choice will end the noncombat.
  • Choosing to flush out the bats places 7x drippy bat in the zone.
  • Crafting the drippy stake replaces your currently equipped drippy truncheon if you have one equipped (even if you have more truncheons in your inventory), but does not automatically equip the stake. Watch out!
  • Ascending does not allow you to fight The Thing in the Basement a second time, and no additional exploration options in The Dripping Trees are ever unlocked after defeating The Thing.
