  • The first time:

You carefully head down the corridor, and stop at a small alcove. You stop and punch yourself in the stomach a few times, trying to get it to shut up about how hungry it is.

A blue potion bottle rests on the floor in the alcove. Weirdly, it looks like the entire purpose of this alcove is to have a potion or something sitting there. You wonder if you're going to screw up the dungeon's feng shui by taking the bottle, and then decide you don't really care.

The bottle has a green upward-pointing triangle painted on the side, which isn't particularly enlightening. It's probably good though, right? Green is good. Up is good. I mean, it could be a bottle of laundry detergent specially-formulated for elf hats, but that seems kind of unlikely, so you drink the stuff anyway.

It makes your brain feel funny, but it's kind of a good funny, I guess? Like your magic would be more powerful, if you knew how to do any magic. Being an axe-wielding barbarian, though, well, not so much.

Anyway, from here you can go up the corridor to the west, or down it to the east. Or possibly it's the other way around.

You check and make sure nobody came by and put a new potion in the alcove. Nobody did. Oh well. One bottle of magic elf hat cleaner is probably enough. Now then: west, or east?
