  • You desperately swing your axe at the malevolent spectre, but it passes right through with no effect.
  • You cleave at the horrible wraith with wild abandon, but your axe passes through it with no resistance at all.
  • You shout wildly at the dark spectre and attempt to cleave at it with your axe, but the weapon passes through the wraith as through through thin air.

    • The terrible wraith clutches at you with its bony hand.
    • The horrible wraith places its skeletal hand on your chest.

    • The hooded wraith calmly reaches out and touches you.
  • Your response:
    • The room spins and your vision blurs as your life-essence is drained from you.
    • You grit your teeth in anguish as your life is sucked away.
    • You can practically feel your soul leaving your body.
    • You feel oddly listless, and as cold as ice.
• Killing death:
  • With a ghastly howl, the robed wraith vanishes in a cloud of green smoke. This surprises you a bit, considering that you weren't actually dead yet. Maybe he just... wasn't all that hungry? Or something?
    
    "Ha ha!" you laugh weakly. "Had enough, eh? Guess I turned out to be more than you could handle!" Then, you decide that taunting the spectre of Death itself probably isn't the best move, and shut up.
