Notes
- Encodes all kmails in ROT-13. Also encodes all viewed kmails in ROT-13, so that those sent by others with the ring will appear as normal.
- When the ring is equipped, its description is encoded in ROT-13. The last sentence reads "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine."
- All other item descriptions appear as normal.
References
- Among the most famous secret decoder pins was one distributed by Ovaltine. This Ovaltine promotion was also referenced in A Christmas Story.
- Little Arsonist Amy refers to Little Orphan Annie, whose radio show was sponsored by Ovaltine for nearly ten years in the 1930s, and its decoder pin promotions were often tied in with the show (though the message "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine" never appeared in the actual radio show, just in A Christmas Story).
- "Now you can send secret messages to your friends that will look like complete gibberish to everyone else. Assuming, of course, that that wasn't already the case anyway" is a reference to a Calvin and Hobbes comic where Calvin finds a decoder ring in a box of cereal and says he will send messages that his parents will be unable to read.
