- Introduced with the new HD version of the level 8 quest on July 24th, 2012.
- Previously used during the level 8 quest; this tradeable and pullable version was replaced by a quest flagged copy ninja rope.
- On January 2, 2025, renamed from ninja rope to frayed ninja rope.
- The description used to be:
- This is a rope treated with ancient ninja chemicals to stop it from making that "fwiiip fwiip" noise that ordinary ropes make.
- A replacement quest flagged ninja rope was created.
