 You're fighting a giant man-eating shark

A giant dorsal fin breaks the surface of the water, cutting through it like a blade, leaving almost no wake as it approaches your sailing ship. Suddenly, the fin vanishes, and a huge shark leaps into the air! Uncountable rows of teeth gnash as it roars, its fetid breath smelling like the graveyards of the deep.
