You're fighting a herd of archaeaArchaea are like a worse kind of bacteria, or if you ask them, a much better kind of bacteria. Despite their lack of shoulders, they really manage to have a chip on their shoulder about that whole comparison.

One of the litlte[sic] nodules ruptures, but the resulting horrible goo is swept away by an ambient stew current. That reminds you -- you should pick up some currant stew and Ambien on the way home.
It reproduces by budding, which makes it grow four additional little nodules. Then four of the other nodules wither and fall off, so the whole process is net zero in terms of meaningful combat action.
It tries to infect your <skull>, but is once again stymied by the fact that it isn't a bacteria. It gets so mad about this. (FUMBLE!)
