Hugo, the Weaver

Hugo, the Weaver
Pardon my strange garments, Mr. Adventurer -- I am preparing to go on an extended tour of a cabaret show with a few other men, and we all perform dressed as women.
What? No, actually we don't leave for several days. Why do you ask? Anyway, since you're here, tell me what you think of a new theory I've formulated. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you adventurers do not. You go to an area and you adventure and adventure until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is?
No, not a virus. Huh, that's actually better than my theory. I was going to say, "a piece of candy." But a virus works much better. Thanks, I'll revise my treatise.
On a completely unrelated note, have some candy.
