Inexplicably glowing rock
From A KoL Wiki
This rock glows with a strange greenish light. It's also slightly warm, and makes your hand tingle a little. It must be pretty magical, and probably isn't even a little bit dangerous!

- This item is used to light the way into the dark cave so that you can face Felonia.
References
- This item refers to the common belief that radioactive minerals glow green, as in The Simpsons and other depictions. (In fact, most radioisotopes glow blue or not at all; the green glow of radioactive paints is due to the addition of other materials that absorb high-energy radiation and reradiate it at longer wavelengths.)
- Highly radioactive materials are often warm to the touch, because some of the radiation's energy is converted into heat. Handling such materials is extremely dangerous, but the harm may not be visible for years afterwards. Note that radioisotopes which decay only through alpha-particle emission can in fact be handled without significant danger; the reason for this is that alpha particles are fairly large (about the size of a helium atom). Thus, even intense alpha radiation can be stopped by material as thin as a sheet of paper (or skin). However, this is the exception rather than the rule.
- In the Zork series of games, there is a material called illuminite which is essentially an inexplicably glowing rock. And the Zork series of games is also the source of the Grue, which the inexplicably glowing rock is used to avoid.
