Intro: View of a Vampire
After-Afterlife Al leads you to a plank that juts off the side of a cloud, rather like a diving board. "Here you are, kid," he says. "Whenever you're ready. Good luck."
You shrug, take a deep breath, and jump.
You might have expected Literally Maximum Skydiving to be scary, but since you're just a spirit that doesn't have a stomach or any other way to really feel the acceleration, it's actually quite fun. You can see the entire Kingdom spread out below you... it seems a bit darker than usual, which is odd. Is that a total solar eclipse? What a strange coincidOOF
You stumble slightly and look around -- it appears that a stray bat has accidentally flown right through you. It flaps away, squeaking the bat version of "What the hell was that?" Before you can really react, your vision goes hazy, and you lose consciousness.

You wake up in your new body, which seems much paler and weaker than you expected. Astrally jetlagged, maybe? You stagger to your campsite to find your... coffin. Hmm. Strange. Ah well. It's as good a place as any for a nap.
Occurs on starting a new Dark Gyffte ascension.
