You stumble across what looks like the crow's nest of a pirate ship sticking out of the ground. In it, you find a broken telescope and a few scrolls that look like some kind of navigational charts.

You can't really glean any useful spacefaring information from these charts, but you do manage to learn a little bit of the Space Pirates' language by reading the notes in the margins.
