lihc You're fighting a lihc

This is a lihc. A lihc is the European version of the chupacabra. Which is Spanish for "Goatsucker." Trust me, it's a lot more menacing than it sounds. Fear the goatsucker.

Hit Message(s):

He floats around spoookily, smacking you in the <head> with his tentalces. Ouch! Eek! Ooh! (spooky damage)

He floats right through you. You feel violated. Ugh! Eek! Ow! (sleaze damage)

He sucks out your life-force with his spectral tentacles. Man, that sucks. Oof! Ooh! Ooh! (spooky damage)

He lets loose a spooooky moan. You feel a stabbing pain in your <head>. Argh! Eek! Ugh! Oof! (spooky damage)

Critical Hit Message:

He moans spoookily and floats back and forth through your body several times. You find yourself covered with ectoplasm. Eww, he slimed you. Argh! Ooh! (spooky damage)

Miss Message(s):

He tries to smack you with his tentalces, but misses and gets tangled up in himself. And blue.

He lets loose a spooooky moan, but you cover your ears and hum a happy tune.

He tries to suck out your life-force, but realizes you're not a goat.

He tries to float through you, but you're not having any of that funny business.

Fumble Message:

He floats toward you, intent on entangling you in his spectral tentacles. Fortunately, a dude with a magic backpack runs up, shoots some kind of ray at the lihc, and traps it in a mystical prison. (FUMBLE!)

After Combat
You gain 29−43 Meat (average: 35.7, stdev: 3.3)*
You acquire an item: lihc eye (29.2% chance)*
You gain 4 <substat>.

Occurs at The Unquiet Garves.

Notes

  • The image of the lihc does not at all resemble traditional depictions of liches or chupacabras, and appears more similar to a penanggalan.

References

  • The text for an unsuccessful attack references the Bob Dylan song, "Tangled Up In Blue".
  • A chupacabra is a mythical creature said to inhabit Mexico and the southern US. Its name does, in fact, translate as "goat-sucker". It is not undead, however, and is unrelated to and does not remotely resemble a lich.
  • The lihc is a misspelled lich.
  • The critical and fumble messages both refer to the movie Ghostbusters.
