malevolent crop circle You're fighting a malevolent crop circle

This is a large field of grain, some of which has been flattened down to form ancient occult sigils, or possibly messages from a distant alien race, which amounts to the same thing really. Where-ever they came from, the patterns have somehow imbued the field of grain with a dark and murderous intelligence, and now it is waiting for hapless adventurers to prey on. In a small room halfway up a stone tower. Look, just... just work with me here, all right?

Hit Message(s):

You are somehow beaten half to death by a field of grain. How it does that is one of the great unsolved mysteries of the universe. Ouch! Ugh! Ow! Ugh! Oof! Ouch! Ooh! Ouch! Ugh! Argh!

The crop circle beats the stuffing out of you, in a manner that I can't describe because, er... it's too horrible. Ugh! Eek! Eek! Ouch! Eek! Oof! Ouch! Oof! Argh! Ow!

Miss Message(s):

It tries to you[sic] in the <arm>, but misses.

You hold up the bronzed locust, and a giant swarm of buzzing grasshoppers thunders through the open window and attacks the field of grain. Soon the mystical alien graffiti or whatever is completely consumed, rendering the field harmless. You continue up the stairs, leaving the locusts to finish up.
You gain 40 <substat>.

Occurred at The Sorceress' Tower (The Stairs).

Notes

  • This monster's combat weakness is the bronzed locust.
  • If you lose, you will receive a hint as to which item to use.
    • First hint: That's a very large field of grain you're dealing with. Looks like you're gonna need some help.
    • Second hint: Maybe you can get aid from some habitual destroyer of crops.
    • Third hint: Some sort of classical famine-causing eating-machine might work.
    • Fourth hint: If you could summon some kind of insect plague, that would definitely be helpful here.
    • Fifth hint: Perhaps a bronzed locust from the Arid, Extra-Dry Desert is what you're looking for.
