Out of Range

Out of Range
Out of Range

You've fought your way to the top of the most towering of the mountains -- it stretches nearly to the ceiling! It gives you a great vantage point for scoping out the surrounding areas.

You see what looks like the entrace to a mine, but it's got a comically large padlock on the door. In the other direction you see the entrance to a cave, labeled "FOREBODING CAVE" in case your natural sense of foreboding wasn't sufficient.

If you are wearing a FantasyRealm Warrior's Helm:

Through the visor of your helmet, you see a glowing arrow pointing to a hidden trail leading into a secluded valley. The words "OGRE CHIEFTAIN'S KEEP" float above it.

If you have a druidic orb:

You notice a Van der Graaf generator attached to the ceiling directly over your head.

If you are wearing a FantasyRealm Rogue's Mask:

Through the visor of your mask, you see a glowing arrow pointing to a hidden trail leading into a secluded valley. The words "MASTER THIEF'S CHALET" float above it.

With a FantasyRealm Thief's Outfit, or FantasyRealm Warrior's Outfit, or FantasyRealm Wizard's Outfit equipped:

Weird, there's also a pedestal here with a big red button on it labeled "SECRET QUEST." How did you never see that before?

Unlock the mine  [with a FantasyRealm key]

You unlock the gate, then spend an hour prying it open because it was rusted shut in addition to being locked. Your G. E. M. beeps as you wipe the sweat from your brow.

(Unlocks The Old Rubee Mine)

Head into the deep cave

It takes about an hour to hike back down the mountain to where the foreboding cave is. Your G. E. M. beeps.

(Unlocks The Foreboding Cave)

(If you are wearing a FantasyRealm Warrior's Helm)

Head to the Ogre Chieftain's Keep

You follow the trail through the valley to the keep. The trail isn't long, but it's lined with a lot of really nice flowers, so you walk pretty slowly. Your G. E. M. beeps, reminding you to hurry up.

(Unlocks The Ogre Chieftain's Keep)

Hold aloft your orb  [ druidic orb ]

You hold aloft the druidic orb, and zzzzzzzap!. A massive arc of electricity knocks you unconscious. Your G. E. M. beeps an hour later, waking you up.

You acquire an item: charged druidic orb

(If you are wearing a FantasyRealm Rogue's Mask)

Head to the Master Thief's Chalet

You follow the trail through the valley to the chalet. The trail isn't long, but it's lined with a lot of really nice flowers, so you walk pretty slowly. Your G. E. M. beeps, reminding you to hurry up.

(Unlocks The Master Thief's Chalet)

Press the big red button

If the first button pressed: You press the button, and from somewhere underneath it you hear a man's recorded voice say "Susan, please replace this recording with main quest progress dialog number one."

Huh.

If the second button pressed:

You press the button, and from somewhere underneath it you hear a woman's recorded voice say "Hey, this is Susan, I'm not sure if this thing is actually working correctly or not, but"

It cuts off abruptly.

If the third button pressed:

You press the button, and from somewhere underneath it you hear a woman's recorded voice say, in an extremely fake British accent, "Great work, adventurer! You're one step closer to rescuing me from the Skeleton Lord's clutches!"

Hmm. You seem to be missing some context, here.

If the fourth button pressed:

You press the button, and from somewhere underneath it you hear a woman's recorded voice say "Look, if the clowns in narrative can't do any better than another dumb damsel-in-distress story, then I don't see why I should bother putting in the effort on these line reads."

Okay...

If the fifth button pressed:

Fight the Skeleton Lord

Leave for now
You'll figure this out later.

Occurs at The Towering Mountains.
