- Recursion is a process or pattern that includes itself, causing it to repeat.
- Spline reticulation is a fictional term supposedly related to rendering of 3D graphics. This process was made famous in the game Sim City 2000, in which, during loading of a map, a female voice declared the game to be "reticulating splines". It has also been a part of every Sim game since Sim Copter (In different guises - Reticulating Splines, Still Reticulining Splines, Teaching Splines how to reticulate etc.)
- On the November 16, 2006 Jick and Mr. Skullhead Radio Show, someone requested for Jick to say "reticulating splines" in the most sexist way he possibly could. Jick answered with "Reticulating splines, bitch! Now make me a sandwich!"
