When Used:

You hang out on a park bench in Seaside Town until a a <bird> lands on a nearby bush and sings a beautiful song at you. Hooray! or You wander off in the woods and randomly look at birds until you see one that looks like a a <bird>. It sings a song to you, just like the calendar said it would! You acquire an effect: Blessing of the Bird (duration: 10 Adventures)

Effects

Birds of the day grant a seeded effect comprised of 4 categories of buffs, based on class, path, and day (11 * path + 23 * class + 37 * day):

• One of the following attribute buffs:
  • Muscle +50/75/100/150/200%
  • Mysticality +50/75/100/150/200%
  • Moxie +50/75/100/150/200%
• One of the following elemental resistance buffs:
  • Hot Resistance +1/2/3/4/5
  • Cold Resistance +1/2/3/4/5
  • Stench Resistance +1/2/3/4/5
  • Spooky Resistance +1/2/3/4/5
  • Sleaze Resistance +1/2/3/4/5
• One of the following stat buffs:
  • +10/20/30/40/50% Item Drops from Monsters
  • +20/40/60/80/100% Meat from Monsters
  • Monster Level +10/15/20/25/30
  • Combat Frequency -3/5/7/9/11%
  • Combat Initiative +25/50/75/100/150%
  • +1/2/3/4/5 Stat(s) Per Fight
• One of the following utility buffs:
  • Regenerate 10-20 HP per adventure
  • Weapon Damage +100% and +20
  • Damage Absorption +100, Damage Reduction +5
  • Regenerate 10-20 MP per adventure
• Buff strength totals are limited, and so having a sufficiently strong bonus of one category (usually tier 4 or tier 5) will potentially result in only 3 strong buffs instead of 4 medium buffs.

Notes

• MP cost starts at 5 MP and doubles each cast (5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, etc).
• While under the Zombie Slayer path, this skill costs zombies to cast.
• Casting Seek out a Bird for a 7th time (320 MP) in a single day will result in New Favorite Bird?, a free noncombat that offers a choice to spend the 320 MP and grant a new skill, Visit your Favorite Bird. This skill can be cast once per day, and will grant 20 turns of the associated bird buff (but because it is a different effect, this potentially allows you to double up on the effect!). Favorite birds can be changed once per day and are remembered across ascension.
