Shore of an Underground Lake
- Before killing the giant octopus:
The tunnel opens up into a huge cavern containing an underground lake. Stone pillars rise out of the lake at regular intervals to support the ceiling far above, where a thin beam of light shines down from a hole in the roof. Another tunnel entrance is barely visible on the lake's far shore, but the cliff edge overlooking the lake is steep, rocky, and wet -- so, although you're easily a good enough swimmer to reach the other side, you might find yourself unable to climb out again should you attempt it.
- After killing the giant octopus:
The tunnel opens up into a huge cavern containing an underground lake. Stone pillars rise out of the lake at regular intervals to support the ceiling far above, where a thin beam of light shines down from a hole in the roof. It appears that, following your fight with the giant octopus, its thrashing death throes knocked down several of the pillars; they've landed in such a way as to provide a kind of makeshift bridge to the other side of the lake, where you can barely make out another tunnel entrance.

- Before killing the giant octopus:
Swim across the lake |
Krakrox considered the steep rocky sides of the lake, and shook his head. It would not do to swim all the way across, only to discover it to be impossible to climb out again.

Go North |
Leave the City |
Poking around in an abandoned ruin was starting to grate on Krakrox's nerves. He was a man of action, ill-suited to scavenger hunts and puzzley nonsense.
You decide to return to the jungle and find something to kill instead.
Occurs at The Jungles of Ancient Loathing.
