Slow and Steady Wins the Brawl
Out of the corner of your eye, you see a drunk turtle stagger into the fracas. They'll make soup out of him!

You dive into the fray to retrieve the turtle, but end up holding his shell as he wobbles his way out the front door of the tavern on the arm of a werecougar.
Oh well. You'll give him his shell back the next time you see him.
