Legend has it that anyone who views this tape will die within 7 days. It has a 6% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is still better than The Adventures of Pluto Nash.

When Used

| You find a media cart nearby, roll it over, and pop in the tape. Carefully looking away, you press play. Your opponent's eyes (or eye-analogues) grow wide as they view the contents. |
- When used after a Spooky VHS Tape has already been used and the affected monster has not come back yet:

- When used against an ineligible monster:

Notes
- To be eligible for VHSing, the monster must be both copiable and instakillable.
- When used successfully, staggers the monster and causes a copy of it to appear as a wandering monster 8 turns after using the item (i.e., 7 turns after the completion of a turntaking fight). When the copy appears, it will automatically be free killed, and all of its pickpocketable drops will be forced to drop (i.e. a YR without ELY).
- The VHS copy comes before voting monsters in the wandering monster Encounter Hierarchy.

- The Adventures of Pluto Nash is a 2002 Eddy Murphy vehicle notorious for being a critical and financial disaster. Its critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes is, indeed, a very poor 5% fresh.
