You find a small room that seems safe, or at least safe enough to rest for a moment once you've barricaded the door. You throw open the windows to let in a little of the cool night air and musty stink of ancient castle out of your nose.
Unfortunately, you don't get time to enjoy it, as a huge flock of bats streams in through the window, and before you can blink the cloud of shrieking animals reforms into the shape of a tall, stern-faced man.
"How do you do that?" you ask, holding your weapon in front of you as you regain your composure. "I mean, turn into one bat, sure. But how can you possibly turn into multiple individual animals? That doesn't make any sense."
"I haven't a clue what you're talking about," he says in a thousand tiny high-pitched voices, then leaps to attack you.
Hit Message(s):
He starts to monologue about the nature of good and evil. When you eventually doze off, he bites you on the neck. Ooh! Ow! (spooky damage)
He turns into a bat and bites your neck. While frantically trying to dislodge him, you accidentally punch yourself in the face. Ouch! Argh! (spooky damage)
He turns into a cloud of mist, and you accidentally inhale him. Oh god, you can feel him sucking your blood from the inside! Ouch! Ugh! (spooky damage)
The vampire stares deep into your eyes, and you start to feel dizzy. Soon you're pointing out your juciest veins for him to bite. Eek! Ouch! (spooky damage)
What do you get if you cross a human, a mosquito, and a leech? I don't know either, but hey, a vampire is biting your neck. Argh! Oof! (spooky damage)
The vampire sucks out some of your blood, along with part of your soul, and several childhood memories. (CRITICAL HIT!) Ow! Argh! (spooky damage)
He starts to monologue about the nature of good and evil, but gives up when you begin to roll your eyes exaggeratedly and tap on your wristwatch.
He turns into a bat and tries to bite your neck, but you start flailing wildly in fear of him getting caught in your hair, and he can't get near.
He turns into a cloud of mist, and you accidentally inhale him. Fortunately, your fit of coughing spasms keeps him from actually doing anything in there.
The vampire stares into your eyes. It seems like maybe he's trying to hypnotize you. It also seems like maybe he's not very good at it.
He spends a little while laughing maniacally. He's gotten pretty good at it over the last few centuries.
The vampire plainly wants to suck out some of your blood, but seems undecided on what the spookiest way to do that would be. (FUMBLE!)
The vampire glides toward you an inch off the floor, unnervingly silent and still. Then he bites you, which is pretty much par for the course.

Notes
- This monster cannot be copied.
- The Freddy Kruegerand and Dreadsylvanian Almanac page drops are not affected by item drop modifiers. They are similar to the beer lens drop and drops from crates. In particular, they can still drop after being stomped.
- Every round, vampires suck your blood, healing themselves.
- An otherworldly howl from outside freaks you out, sweetening your blood for the vampire to suck.
- The vampire disappears, appears behind you and shouts, "Boo!", then drinks your blood.
- The vampire glides toward you an inch off the floor, unnervingly silent and still. Then he bites you, which is pretty much par for the course.
- The vampire hisses at you, sending chills up your spine, then sucks your blood.
- The vampire turns into a bat right before your eyes. The transformation looks painful and terrifying. Then he sucks your blood, which is also painful and terrifying.
- The vampire turns into a cloud of mist, which is super-spooky (the transformation, that is, not the mist. The mist is just kind of...misty), then turns back and sucks your blood.
- The vampire unhinges his jaw, his face stretching in terrifying and unnatural ways, and then sucks your blood.
- The vampire's eyes turn black and his face begins to stretch unnaturally. Then he sucks your blood like usual.
- Your heart begins to pound with terror, driving all the more blood into the vampires sucking mouth.
- If any elements are banished, starting combat with a spooky Dreadsylvanian curses you, giving one of the messages:
- A black crow flutters down to a tree branch near you and meows loudly.
- You feel the hair on the back of your neck stand on end.
- A ghost shrieks in the distance, breaking your concentration without even apologizing. You shiver.
- The wind whistles through the trees nearby, startling you and making you lose track of what you were doing. A chill runs down your spine.
- The creepy vibes in this place really mess with your head. You shudder.
- A black cat looks up at you and says, "what are you staring at, jagoff?" It hisses and crosses your path as it leaves.
- You shudder. Something isn't right, here.
- A black crow flutters down to a tree branch near you and meows loudly.
