Name checks

  • deepest purple remains an album by deep purple, and the color purple is a novel by alice walker. if either one were missing the reference could be considered involuntary. since there are both, though, it looks like another set of purposeful name checks by the author. --Evilkolbot 03:57, 25 May 2008 (CDT)
    • Coincidence. What else in the description, other than those specific 2 words being next to each other, leads you to think there's a reference? As I believe has been said many times, TPTB are usually pretty obvious and direct with their references. Everything about this description screams to me "we use purple for sleaze, so let's mention that since this thing is purple". If there was a quote directly from a song from that album, or from that novel, sure. And do either "Deepest Purple" or "The Color Purple" have anything whatsoever to do with sleaze, other than Deep Purple being classified as a "heavy metal" band? --Flargen 14:21, 25 May 2008 (CDT)
