Talk:8-ball

From A KoL Wiki

I think the reference is just a general reference, because using 8-balls as gearshift knobs is a pretty common thing, especially in Hot Rods. --Ion42 07:17, 20 September 2006 (CDT)

'You ask your 8-ball a question. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't answer.' --> is this the only thing that this do when used in the inventory? hope it does other stuffs too --jeremypv 23:00, 21 September 2006 (CDT)

  • 'You ask your 8-ball a question. Unsurprisingly, "8" is the answer it gives you.' --> This seems to be the only message that is given, these days. Just got that message 10/10 tries. Confirmation? --Nossidge 11:13, 10 November 2007 (CST)

I'm guessing the inventory thing is just a joke. Perhaps for the combat use it simply delays an opponent so they don't attack for one turn, like some other items do? I'll test that out. EDIT: well, I only had one of them, and when you use it in combat, it disappears. The enemy didn't attack me that turn, though. -naGopaleen

  • It seems to work along the same lines as the wussiness potion - I've been attacked after using it, but at the same time, I've been able to take down cyrpt bosses that I've been unable to hit without monster delevelling by using an 8-ball or two first.--Katarani 04:36, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

just used three in a row and none of them prevented the monster from attacking. --Parroharro 21:59, 22 July 2007 (CDT)

I just used 40 of these and saw no stunning. I don't think it actually does stun. --TechSmurf 01:56, 14 October 2007 (CDT)

Deleveling testing

To test the deleveling, I used an unarmed Seal Clubber (level 19/Muscle 345). I adventured in the Valley, alternating hitting the opponent and using an 8-ball on them, using a total of 30 8-balls

X indicates a critical hit. Because of the way unarmed combat works, the delevelling amount should be the difference between consecutive damage, lowering critical hits by 1. (So the first 8-ball delevelled the anime 25-(23-1)=3 and (29-1)-25=3.)

There were 3 instances of delevelling by 1, 12 by 2 levels, and 15 by 3.
