Password Sequence

As DB my scrap paper sequence was: Folded, rumpled, torn, ripped, crinkled, crumpled, creased and ragged. The password was: POONGOLDFOOPLONKBLAGPLIBDORNCAD Do all DB get this password/paper sequence or is it randomized for each player/ascension?--Vae Victis 11:08, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

They are probably randomized. As DB my sequence was: Rumpled, creased, crinkled, crumpled, folded, torn, ripped, ragged. Password: ZZZZABRAPOONKAZAMGUGBLAGCADTANG --MachinShin 11:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Well mine (as a DB) is folded, ragged, ripped, rumpled, torn, crumpled, creased and crinked. That's 8 papers, as much as you, however, the right edge of my ripped paper does not match the left of my rumpled one. So maybe there are more then 8 papers? The password I got so far is MOO TANG THWART <hole here> DORN GOLD ZZZZ PLIB ABRA, and it doesn't work. --Kikas 11:53, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Just a couple of salient points: I have checked 3 different accounts, and there are only 8 "parts". There should be no spaces between "words" when you enter the password. You need to look at the rips on each side of each paper image to determine sequence. The best way to do this is to hover over that portion of the image to tell what type of rip it is. A "cleanly ripped" left side image seems to be the one that should always go first in the sequence, from what I've found., [edit]disproven, damn small sample sizes[/edit]The ones that have no matches define the edges. --Jakatk 12:11, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

I had a "cleanly ripped" dead center of mine. -- sulfur 12:21, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
ARGH! That's what I was missing. I assumed the "cleanly ripped" vertical edges implied the beginning and end of the password, and that I was missing a 9th piece in the middle which would match the unmatched jagged edges. I tried eating a fortune cookie too, thinking maybe the 9th piece would come from somewhere else. -Greycat 12:32, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I had a "zig zaggy tear" for the left side image for the first in my sequence. --Argentee 12:24, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I think any edge can be an end. Also, I was able to fight my nemesis while falling down drunk.--Kmwillia 12:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, any edge can be an end. I wrongly assumed the clean edged ones were the start and end at first too, and ended up at the same problem as Kikas, until I just tried matching everything up, even the flat edges. To give an example, though one that is a bit spoily to Kikas, Kikas should have done DORN GOLD ZZZZ PLIB ABRA MOO TANG THWART instead. -- Konoko 13:30, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Not sure if it's random per player, but as a Sauceror, my sequence was CADBAZGORTPYEWBARTANGCATFOO. --Muhfin 14:58, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Pastamancer here with KAZAMPLONKALAGORTPLIBMEEPMOOTANG --Lzygenius 12:13, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

So... what happens if you type THE PASSWORD at the door? Anything? --Johnny Treehugger 15:11, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

This has already been stated elsewhere by someone else, but the password is randomized per ascension (not just per player). Also, it can be brute-forced (I did it lacking the 8th piece), though it would probably be horrendous to do so without knowing most of the password already...--Jambosque 11:39, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Ok so my password is tangbazblagkofcatfoochtonplib. I've matched up the peices of my papers and everything and tryed it tons of times but the door still says its not the right password. Any ideas?

  • Case sensitive, maybe? If that's not it, make sure you haven't made a mistake anywhere lining up the tears. Remember that the clean tear doesn't mean the edge. --Goluxas 04:46, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
