Adventure likelihood

I have a hypothesis that may be near impossible to test: The likelihood of this adventure decreases with intoxication (or increases with sobriety).

My sample size is rather small but my experiences seem to suggest that if I want the beer lens, I should adventure when sober. Not enough data or detail to record here, but I'll work on it.

One argument in favour of this is that it would be player friendly design. Since each adventure in the Tavern actually wastes potential adventures (ones no longer obtainable through booze), dropping the lenses early stops an unfair punishment for an item. Further to this, why else would both lenses drop? If this were any other item, the lenses would drop one at a time, or would be regular item drops in the other adventures.

To counter lens farming, however, the frequency change might only occur if you do not have the lenses in your inventory. That is, if you do already hold just the lenses, you may not get the frequency increase.

It is my understanding that this adventure is super-likely ~25% until you have gotten it once in an ascension. After that its just the same chance as every other adventure. This makes getting a second set of lenses in a hardcore run a most painful task.--Darkness 22:17, 21 June 2008 (CDT)

I've found that I seem to get the beer lenses on the first Tavern adventure (drunkenness 18+ or sober, doesn't matter) right after my bartender in the box explodes and I am left with a single beer lens. Anyone else notice this? --rubian77 11:55, 27 July 2010 (ET)

Spading

Day 1: 7 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 2: 16 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 3: 10 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 4: 4 advs to lens, then another 6 adventures for another set of lenses, then nothing
Day 5: 15 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 6: 13 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 7: 13 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 8: 4 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 9: 7 advs to lens, then nothing
Day 10: 11 advs to lenses, then nothing

• I had never gotten lenses before I started spading this. I only adventured in the tavern until I got 20 drunkenness, and I never drank anything before. Ill keep spading for 10 days. • It seems that it you have (14 or 19) drunkenness, and adventure at the tavern, you WILL ALWAYS RECEIVE BEER LENSES. If true, getting lenses will be easy and not as swingy. Ima test my theory over the next few days. --Acinixys Planicauda 13:47, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
