Talk:Alert mariachi
I did 106 damage to the surprised mariachi, and finished him as an alert mariachi doing, strangely, 26 damage. Either the alert mariachi has much more defense than the surprised one, or there's a strange bug and maricahis have exactly 132 HP ^^. All in all, they have less than 132 HP.
You gain 6 Muscleboundness. You gain 18 Enchantedness. You gain 26 Roguishness.
Not a stat day, +5 ML (quartet)--Modran 07:01, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Lowered my base mainstat below the enemy's ML to test initiative. At +205% init I got the jump. After 100 adventures at +200% init I never got the jump. Enemy initiative is 300. Wow. --EvilMatt 23:28, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Special move
I guess there is no escaping from the special move? I encountered an alert mariachi with 2641 Moxie, still got rid of all my HP on the first round (after auto-pickpocketing though, I did get the advantage). Does the special move occur in later rounds? Any further thoughts? --Obeliks 13:29, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- Add: I just got a special move from a surprised mariachi who turned into an alert mariachi, so this isn't restricted to "pure" alert mariachis. Was again on first round though. --Obeliks 13:41, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- I froze one for several rounds with a He-Boulder, and it beat me up as soon as it got a turn. They use it as soon as they get a chance to act, every time. --LockeZ 22:36, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- In case anyone else thinks that this might work: no, setting The Crown of Ed the Undying to "Weasel" ("The first attack against you will always miss") won't stop the attack. You'll get murdered like you normally do. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 20:01, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
Substat gains
I managed to defeat one and got: You gain 11 Beefiness. You gain 13 Wizardliness. You gain 30 Roguishness. I already had 3 turns Beat Up so I tried to see what I could do against a one that started at sleepy. Did in total less than 125 damage.--Lzygenius 08:07, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Stealing pebble
I was using a little round pebble for +combat init, but then he beat me up and grabbed it out of my hand. Explorifice (talk) 16:14, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- from the pebble page: Losing initiative causes the pebble to be lost, with the following message: "<It> grabs the pebble from your hand. Dangit!" so careful. --Evilkolbot (talk) 16:32, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
