And also your Meat has earned interest. //end of combat You gain X Meat. //X=(1.05*stolen) itemimages/larva.gif 00000010 changes into a Worm Doctor. 00000010 isn't a real doctor, but he manages to patch you up a little bit anyway. //occasionally during combat You gain X hit points. //30-60? some function of max HP? 00000010 is interested in things. Right now, he seems to be interested in treating your opponent's wounds. "Yep," you think to yourself, "There's that bag." 00000010 makes crinkling noises as it gets chased around by a cat. 00000010 just sits there being unsafe for children. itemimages/hare2.gif 00000010 changes into an Oyster Bunny. 00000010 hops around sniffing at things. //first round? 00000010 makes a soft clucking noise. //every round after? 00000010 clucks and lays an egg. //end of combat You acquire an item: an oyster egg //I've recieved: mauve plastic off-white paisley lavender plastic mauve polka-dot lavender striped itemimages/lower_e.gif 00000010 changes into a Floating Eye. 00000010 gazes into your opponent's eyes, paralyzing him //every round itemimages/jubjubbird.gif 00000010 changes into a Vampire Bat. These are my observations. --TimRem 05:25, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Notes
If you lose because of 30 combat rounds, the Bank Piggy doesn't give you the money back. The worm doesn't heal you if you are at full health. Some things to spade, besides damage ranges:
- Bank Piggy:
- What happens if you don't have 100 meat?
(I can confirm that if you have less than 100 meat, he takes that amount, and if you have zero meat, he doesn't act at all)--Puppy528 08:33, 1 April 2010 (UTC) If you have less than 100 meat but not zero meat (ie. x meat), it will take all x meat and use the interest formula. 2 meat returned me 2 meat, so I suspect it to be a floor(total meat collected) formula. Further spading returned me 103 with 99 meat or a profit of 4 from 99. Looks like the floor formula is true.Stevetek 15:08, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Do you get your meat back after a loss?
- Observed: no, you lose anything the Bank Piggy had taken if you're defeated. Or if the combat ends in a non-standard way (see below, about Egg Benedict and turtle liberation). --Pastangum 01:06, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Do you get your meat back after a loss?
- Money-Making Goblin:
- What happens if the monster doesn't drop meat? (the familiar doesn't act at all at the end of combat in this case)--Puppy528 08:36, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Interaction with Nuns sidequest?
- I'm wondering how the Money-Making Goblin works with the nun quest. Anyone at that point?--Blood panther 05:11, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- The Goblin takes quest meat (you essentially waste a turn if he loses), whereas the Pig meat is calculated separately and goes to you. --FurQ 14:42, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Egg Benedict:
- Is there any way to prevent taking damage besides running away from the combat?
- Observed: the Egg didn't stab me after I, as a Turtle Tamer, liberated a turtle. I'd guess it only stabs if you "win the fight". --Pastangum 01:03, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Is there any way to prevent taking damage besides running away from the combat?
- Plastic Grocery Bag:
- Anything?
- Floating Eye:
- Trigger for paralyzing you instead of your opponent?

Seems like, as these are full familiars (sort of), they ought to have their own pages. Though that would require updating the template... Hmm. --TechSmurf 05:40, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I believe the image for the Snowhitman is supposed to be snowhalo.gif . --Nahtmmm 15:32, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Now it's been changed to something else, I see. Even better. --Nahtmmm 01:37, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
When your familiar gains a pound from the Vampire Bird action, there is no message about gaining weight. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:22, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
When your familiar turns into the Vampire Bird, the messages actually says that it turns into a Vampire Bat. Is there a reason for this difference?--JungleSlug 02:52, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Running away from a combat (seeing if egg benedict did anything interesting on runaway) got me this "Phot reverts to an amorphous blob" Phot being my familiar, and there not being a period at the end of the sentence. Dunno if that was true for all runaways with all versions of the A.F. familiars. That's the doppelshifter message. --Dram 03:34, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it's already added to the page--User:Icon315/sig03:39, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
These familiars can be encountered during Quantum Terrarium. I wound up getting a piggy bank for 11 turns yesterday. --Rick Tyger 7:11pm, 16 may 2021 (CST).
Kittycore break
I've just started a kittycore run. Does anyone know if participating in a familiar-changing combat adventure today will break my 100% black cat usage? I'm very reluctant to use any adventures at all without knowing.--Bovius 15:05, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- While I can't be 100% certain, I believe strongly that the familiar transformation will not break kittycore. It's like your cat has a special version of the tiny costume wardrobe: it's still the same familiar, but acting differently. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:21, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Similar to a Doppelshifter 100% run; I'd expect that it wouldn't effect the run. --Terion 18:30, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- In fact, in this forum post, Jick says it was thought of and verified to be OK. --Terion 19:24, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Given that today is Liar's Day I shouldn't take any of you lying scoundrels at your word, especially Jick. This is exactly the kind of garbage I would expect. But! In the spirit of the day I'll go for it. In all seriousness though, thanks for the responses. --Bovius 19:33, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Mr. Store equipment
Is it worth recording the messages for these familiars from the wax lips, Lucky Tam O'Shanter, and miniature gravy-covered maypole? Here are a few:
- <Bank Piggy> winks at you beneath the Tam O'Shanter. Cha-ching!
- <Floating Eye> winks at you beneath the Tam O'Shanter. Or possibly blinks? Does it even have an eyelid?
- Well, plastic bags can't wink, but if they could, you're pretty sure this one would be winking at you.
- <Snowhitman> tilts back his Tam O'Shanter and gives you a cool wink.
- The vampire bird turns its head to one side so that you can see it wink beneath the Tam.
--Baltar 18:38, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Since they all seem original, yes. --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 20:21, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Familiar Drops
Just wondering if anyone can confirm/deny whether or not the drops from IOTM familiars are disabled - sandworm, astral badger, bricko chick, green pixie, llama, etc? --Grimdel 19:34, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- I spent about 100 adventures with my Llama and he never dropped a gong, no. Well, he never SAID he did. They could, in theory, have been dropping silently. But probably not. In mostly unrelated news, a Comma Chameleon imitating a Bugged Baby Bugbear today did the April Fools thing, not the Bugbear thing. --Johnny Treehugger 19:38, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
105 meat
The bank piggy was incorrectly changed. It steals meat every round, and gives it all back +5%. The person who changed it only fought 1 round each combat. --Starguy 04:24, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Familiar equipment
I suspect none of these familiars have their own familiar-specific equipment. I took a Snowhitman to the Cake-Shaped Arena in a Quantum Terrarium path and only got a lead necklace. --Tiny Plastic Andalite (talk) 11:10, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
