Talk:Astral Cupcakes
From A KoL Wiki
Maybe this is Jick's attempt to make up for the fact that he broke hardcore with snowcones? Nah....this just is not as good....(Unless this has something to do with the comet that is)--SomeStranger (T | C) 16:34, 2 June 2006 (CDT)
- I suppose it could be due to the fact that so many people asked for the tome of snowcone summoning to come back (even though it'd never happen), and Jick specifically said that he has no objection to creating new Mr. Store items that function the same as old ones. In a way, this sort of gives people an extra chance to get items similar to the snowcones, with the added bonus that these apparently do not have the restriction of only being able to use one at a time (unless they do, and nobody's bothered to make a note of it). --Quietust 16:38, 2 June 2006 (CDT)
- I am looking at it from a Hardcore point of view. There is currently nothing even close to the snowcone in usefulness. Hardcore was meant as a place where the playing field was equal to even the newest players. In my mind the snowcone ruins it. Cupcakes that you can only get randomly from adventuring and only being able to adventure if you randomly get mushrooms does not even come close....we shall see. (The badger still rocks though)--SomeStranger (T | C) 16:41, 2 June 2006 (CDT)
- If a HC player is willing to spend 5 adventures they could theoretically obtain 4 cupcakes using the Astral Mushroom and a fairy type familiar and some + Item Drop skills. I also think that the cupcakes function nearly identically (aside from the Green) to snowcones due to the demand for snowcones. Also, snowcones were released almost 6 months prior to this. However, you can only get + familiar weight and an "all-in-one" effect through snow cones. Although I feel the green snowcone effect was altered due to the upcoming NS13 changes (with talk of the sombrero formula getting changed in order to limit the effect of higher monster levels in the late game)--Shoptroll 21:08, 2 July 2006 (CDT)

Astral Cupcakes and their Drop Locations
On all other items we list locations in "drop locations" not specific adventures. All the astral cupcakes have adventures listed as their drop locations. They need to be changed to locations (groups of adventures) such as XXX Trip, etc. for consistency. And all of the Trip adventures need to all have their "occurs" section written the same like "Occurrs when on a XXX Trip", again, for consistency. --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 17:38, 2 June 2006 (CDT)
