Talk:Bailey's Beetle
I believe this only occurs when you've completed the junkyard as a hippy, correct?--Starwed 13:44, 23 October 2007 (CDT)
- Correct. --TechSmurf 13:49, 23 October 2007 (CDT)
I'm starting to think it's not just completing the Junkyard sidequest as a hippy that makes this available. I've done as much and I've had over 40 encounters as a frat warrior without a single beetle. I didn't complete the Junkyard quest as a hippy until I was already about half-way through the hippies, though (with 0 sidequests). So maybe it won't show if you're already a certain amount through the war? Has anyone else seen this, or am I just having insanely bad RNG luck? --Flargen 15:20, 29 March 2008 (CDT)
- Think it's RNG. I'm not completely sure, but I think I got it within five adventures last ascension. --CG1:t,c,e 17:55, 29 March 2008 (CDT)
- If it's the RNG, it is giving me the world's greatest hate-on. 90 turns yesterday without one, and I'm through 47 today without one. I'm really thinking there's a glitch/mechanic that prevents them from appearing in the war if you're too far along in the war as a frat when you do the junkyard as a hippy. --Flargen 06:01, 30 March 2008 (CDT)
- Oh speak of the devil, I FINALLY got one. After over 150 turns, but it appeared. Man, stupid RNG. This is almost as bad as that time it took me over 300 turns to get the final Friar's item. In an oxy run. Oh well. This is a casual run on a multi, thankfully. --Flargen 06:07, 30 March 2008 (CDT)
- I got this on my 6th adventure in the battlefield after switching to frats. --MindlessGames 10:49, 26 June 2008 (CDT)

† Hastifer's item drop stats were calculated based on the weight of the fairy (first @ 25 lbs for 59.08%, then @ 27 lbs for 62.54%), plus Baron von Ratsworth's Monocle (10%). The extra 20% for weapons (on the Apr 8, 2010 and after) comes from wielding the Abyssal Ingot. All performed under the sign of the Wallaby -- the % increase isn't included in the amounts shown. The Beetle doesn't drop weapons, though, so that may be inconsequential. To sum up, on April 5th/6th, the base drop % was +69.08% with no weapon bonus, and on days thereafter, +72.54%, but +92.54% for weapons.
Floorboard Cruft Drop Rate
The above indications are hard for me to sum up. When my drop bonus was 72.54%, the base drop rate appears to be 45.08%, but when my bonus is 69.08%, the base drop rate appears to be 41.97%... what's the best way to resolve? (More combats?) Well, the battlefield is over for me this ascension, perhaps next ascension...--Hastifer 15:37, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
