• I Olfacted some bars today to see if the hats still drop. After 34 bar encounters, none did. With Mafia reporting my +item as slightly more than +200%, and assuming the old base rate of a hat drop was 5%, this has a 0.85³⁴ ≈ 0.4% chance of occurring. Using the normal approximation for binomial distributions of large n (a whopping 34), we'd expect a mean of 34×0.15 = 5.1 hat drops, with σ = 2.08. Six months after the question was brought up, I'm fairly confident the hat doesn't drop anymore. --Bagatelle^T/_C 17:28, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
