Talk:C.H.U.M. chum

From A KoL Wiki

So, I ate this stuff just to see what would happen: You eat the chum. You poor, poor bastard. You've finally hit rock bottom. You gain 1 Adventure. You acquire an effect: Majorly Poisoned (duration: 20 Adventures) You lose 34 hit points. (stench damage)

Moral of story = Do Not Eat. --Alice Dente 08:28, 17 June 2008 (CDT)

Fullness is 3. I ate a fortune cookie (1), then ate a chum (?), then ate 3 bowls of super salad (9) before becoming too full, then was able to eat 2 Knob pasties (2) to top off my 15 fullness capacity. So not only is it bad for you, it's the worst adv/fullness, even worse than a bowl of cottage cheese! --Terion 22:00, 25 June 2008 (CDT)

Pickpocket-Only?

This item has never dropped for me before in three runs through the Sewer, but I just managed to nab one from a C. H. U. M. with a knife by Pickpocketing in bird form. Other anecdotal evidence seems to confirm that the chum is a Pickpocket-only drop. --Southwest 04:37, 23 June 2008 (CDT)

I agree, I think this might be pick-pocket only. I believe I was able to get it initially without a pickpocket, but after paying close attention the last few times into the sewer, I've gotten dozens of chum and all by pickpocket. OzoneB

I've heard reports that it is not pickpocket-only, but if so, it has a very low normal droprate. --Prestige 22:33, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
Going by the few thousand turns I've spent in the sewers without ever getting one, I'm going to agree with them being pickpocket-only. --TechSmurf 22:58, 1 August 2008 (CDT)

Possible 0 adventures and no interaction with Milk of Magnesium

I just was eating some quantum tacos and chum came up. Oddly though, it did not use any adventures of milk of magnesium, nor did it grant me 3 extra adventures. In fact it didn't grant me any adventures at all. Is this known and/or intended behavior? --Durgle 22:58, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Given that you're really not meant to eat this stuff, I'd say it's intended. The steel margarhita and lasagna do similar things I believe and don't interact with ode or milk of mag. As for why it'd give zero adventures vs the 1 listed on the page, that I don't know -- maybe the food is actually a 0-1 vs a 1. --Lordebon 16:20, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
