This is my model for how the drive buttons work:
You earn 10 "Crimbo CandyPoints" for every fight you win with a candy drive button equipped.
You earn 1 additional CandyPoint each fight for every +10% candy drop bonus you have.
When you reach 100 CandyPoints earned, a donation drops from that fight, and the count is reset to zero.

Drop increase?
Received today (December 21) with about +538.5% candy drops:
