Talk:Chorale of Companionship (item)

From A KoL Wiki

Could it possibly be a new accordian theif buff; much akin to all the other skills they've been adding through the use of hobopolis items. I mean, TPTB said they were adding new AT skills with the high-level content... this would only make sense. --Haruki jitsunin 23:08, 21 June 2008 (CDT)

Also, considering that all 5 other classes have something they can offer the sewer-divers, and an outfit, I wouldn't be surprised if they're all AT buffs. That, and they all have song-ish names. --Jimfromtx 16:40, 22 June 2008 (CDT)

At first glance, it doesn't appear to be a buff (contrary to the skill description). It appears to give me a variety of combat skill options (I'll add more on this tomorrow, I'm drunk in-game). However, it does appear on the buffs screen, but is greyed out (yes, I have an accordion) and says "0/200 turns used today". This would imply that it is either necessary to use the combat skills 200 times before the buff becomes accessible (probably to prevent buffbots), or that it is limited to 200 uses and there is some other kind of requirement that I have not yet met.

Here is the skill description - "Chorale of Companionship Type: Buff MP Cost: 50 Playing this song for somebody will depress them, but make them value their familiars more." Kidsmoke 15:56, 24 June 2008 (CDT)

It gives +10 to familiar weight to whoever you buff, but you can only give 200 adventures of the effect "Chorale of Companionship" in a day. If you use the Squeezebox it still gives 15 each time but will limit the last use example: 195/200 if you use the skill and normally get 15 adventures, in this case it will give you 5 so you don't exceed 200--Happydance 19:30, 24 June 2008 (CDT)

It appears that you need to be in Hobopolis to be able to use the skill? It is still grayed out for me. The skills I was having could be due to something else in Hobopolis, because they don't appear to be there anymore. I remember them having something to do with a hobo buddy? and at least one of them was a pretty strong healing skill. Kidsmoke 05:42, 25 June 2008 (CDT)

Kidsmoke, are you an accordian theif? It might be accordian-theif-only useable. Much akin to all the class-specific equipment that the accordian theifs are excluded from. --Haruki jitsunin 04:09, 3 July 2008 (CDT)

I'm not an Accordion Thief. I'd guess that is the case as well. I didn't notice that there wasn't an AT outfit in the Hobopolis sets until you pointed that out. My clan recently barred lower ranks of members from going into Hobopolis, so I haven't been able to test it (Need 1 million Karma). It seems kind of strange that it would let me use the item to receive the skill while not an accordion thief if I would never be able to use it. Kidsmoke 16:59, 5 July 2008 (CDT)

I got this when using it on someone lower than level 15 "You can't cast that spell on persons who are lower than level 15, like (playername), who is level (some level less than 15)."--Happydance 13:34, 25 June 2008 (CDT)

Reference?

Can anyone figure out why Chester has this? There doesn't seem to be anything sleazy about it at all, unless it's just creepy because Chester had it. I feel like I'm missing something. --ManaUser 03:40, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
