Talk:Chronic Indigestion
- Has anyone seen if the food you eat affects this at all?--digitrev 18:12, 27 Sep 2005 (MDT)
- It doesn't. It's simply the base plus your fullness value. --Zaku 19:56, 27 Sep 2005 (MDT)
- Fullness could be as high as 15 or 20 (yay mugcakes), but what's the base? --Mozai 23:46, 7 Nov 2005 (MST)
- The most damage I've seen (without stomach of steel) is 25. Jick must've nerfed Chronic Indigestion because the highest I've seen for about a month and a half is 23. If the base damage=x and the equation for Chronic Indigestion's maximum damage is 23=x+(15x1.5) (which can also be written as x=23-(15x1.5) to find the value of the base damage). The maximum damage that can be done with 15 fullness points is 22.5, and that taken from 23 is a meager .5 damage, which is probably rounded up to 1. Even with the old cap of 25 damage, the base damage is still 2.5, or 3 damage. If I'm remembering this correctly, Chronic Indigestion can do around 5 damage at 0 fullness points, which means that the documented fullness to bonus damage ratio is improperly calculated. There is a good chance, however, that there are other unseen factors within the game mechanics that calculate the damage for Chronic Indigestion. --Kookie 00:25, 9 Nov 2005
Fullness | Low Damage | High Damage |
---|---|---|
0 | 5 | 8 |
1 | 7 | 11 |
2 | 8 | 12 |
3 | 9 | 13 |
4 | 9 | 14 |
5 | 11 | 15 |
6 | 12 | 16 |
7 | 12 | 17 |
8 | 13 | 18 |
15 | 20 | 25 |
At this point, the function appears to be damage = (fullness+5 ... fullness+10) with the exception at fullness = 0 (though it may be just not enough data collected at that point). Higher counts of fullness would give a better indication. In paticular, those who eat a wedding cake on the feast of boris to get the high end. If this is the case, the damage done by such a player would be 40-45 --Shagie 17:45, 8 Nov 2005 (MST)
- Whoops, forgot to sign that last message... I think this table might be useful in the main article. Should it be moved there? --Kookie 18:02, 8 Nov 2005 (MST)
- It is there in text form - "The damage caused by this spell ranges from 5 to 10 points, plus the player's current fullness. A player at 15 fullness (no Stomach of Steel) would do 20-25 points of damage each use." No need to clutter the page with numbers --Shagie 19:30, 8 Nov 2005 (MST)
Does kickback cookbook, or any other spell damage increasers increase the damage? Or is this only fullness? --Desertmagic 16:03, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
Can this skill be permed? --wexer9 07:26, 27 May 2007 (CDT)
- Obviously not. It's a skill obtained from eating an object. -MarcyRoni 10:11, 20 June 2007 (CDT)
- Um, yes, of course this skill can be permed. Just select it at reincarnation, same as any other regular skill. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:12, 31 January 2008 (CST)
I'm not getting this skill when fully buffed and after having eaten an insanely spicy enchanted bean burrito; possible interference from another buff? (Jalapeno or other Saucespheres?) -MarcyRoni 10:11, 20 June 2007 (CDT)
