Skill books

The page says "You cannot use Transcendent Olfaction, Gnome Skills, Unaccompanied Miner, Chronic Indigestion, or any other non-class skills, unless you acquire them in-run." Then it says, you can't use "a non-class-bound skill book". Wouldn't that include a Manual of Transcendent Olfaction or Ellsbury's journal? Seems like it would be better to have one note for Gnome skills / Indigestion / CLEESH and one for Olfaction / Miner, yes? --Johnny Treehugger 19:50, 16 November 2012 (CET)

  • When I tried to use the Black Hymnal to obtain the Canticle of Carboloading, I got the message "This item doesn't seem very classy." I assume that's a bug, and I filed a bug report, but I definitely won't be doing any carboloading today. --Noskilz 02:08, 22 November 2012 (CET)
    • The staffer that got back to me said that it was just a quirk of the Class Act implementation, so the Black Hymnal counts as a skill-granting book, and therefore unusable as long as you're bound by the path. So more an unintended consequence than bug. --Noskilz 22:51, 22 November 2012 (CET)
  • I also go the "not classy" message when using the Traveling Trader book for the Pastmancer as a Pastamancer. Has anyone CONFIRMED that you can use the traveling trader books? For all the other classes? (sent error report, we'll see what happens) --Watermoon 03:39, 8 December 2012 (CET)
    • I was basically told that the traveling trader books are NOT usable at all in class act, with the implication being that you can not use ANY books. Thus the main page would need altering including the suggested exclusion of olfaction/miner, has anyone used ANY skill boooks in Class Act at all? --Watermoon 18:27, 11 December 2012 (CET)

trophy

  • has there been checked for a lvl 30 trophy? and does the regular class lvl 30 trophy apply as well?--Mco 10:34, 20 December 2012 (CET)
    • I don't know about classy level 30 trophies, but I can't think of a reason the regular ones shouldn't work. Even if the regular trophies, for whatever reason, wouldn't work while being in the middle of a Class Act run, you still could get them after freeing the king. --Yatsufusa 12:18, 20 December 2012 (CET)

Strategy

So far to me the best strategy in general seems to be either DB (preferred because of awesome drinks) or PM, both with at least the both consumable-preparing skills permed. I also feel tempted to add spleen familiars to that iotm-list as well, but since they make pretty much every run better/faster, I'm not really sure whether or not their impact on this particular path is significantly greater than on any other challenge path (save Oxy). --Yatsufusa 05:06, 8 December 2012 (CET)
