Talk:Clockwork widget

From A KoL Wiki

This could perhaps be a reference to the Broadway musical "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying". The hero of the story found a book by the same title, which advised him to find a company that's just large enough that none of the employees knows exactly what they make, and so he settled on World Wide Wickets.

I'm pretty sure that the term 'widget' is just a placeholder name, so to speak. My impression from about thirty seconds worth of Wikipedia-ing (Man, why can't it roll off the tongue like 'googling?') is that in business school or whatnot the term 'widget' is used simply to mean any given product. Like, in supply and demand curves. --D1sc0Stu 16:37, 27 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
