Talk:Cotton Candy Carnie
Something ... Else
I'm not sure it drops when your HP and MP are 90% full...When at 27 pounds, it gave me a Cotton Candy Cone when my stats were 4/10 HP and 5/7 MP (BTW, this is actually a doppelshifter that transformed into a CCC, if that matters).--Nyther Darken 04:56, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Xenophobe says that "it does a little more than what it says :)" What other behaviors are being observed? --Nigh Throbbing 23:31, 31 July 2008 (CDT)
The Haiku says that it also feeds you.... --Shualdon 23:34, 31 July 2008 (CDT)
"I've been informed that this doesn't happen only when HP and MP are full. Shadowslip says he got two of them when neither HP nor MP was full." I moved this text from the main article --Kow 23:57, 31 July 2008 (CDT)
- Mine keeps healing me when I'm at full HP/MP instead of giving me toys to sell; I'd say about half of the time. --Kitsunegami 00:48, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
- It seems that the more items it has dropped for me the less likely is to drop more but that could easily be rng screwiness. --Kitsunegami 00:55, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
I totally fail at knowing how to edit the wiki, but the haiku references Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. "Carnies. Circus Folk. Nomads, you know. Smell like cabbage. Small hands." Electra310 23:59, 31 July 2008 (CDT)
From the forum it sounds like there can be a number of different drops, each with a different amount of healing. So far I've heard people mention smidgens, pillows and cones, as well as the plug already referenced here. --Valliant 00:38, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
I got a plug at 17 lbs, though who knows what the basis is for getting different items from the wee beastie. --Valliant 00:52, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
Got a cone at 26 lbs. --Valliant 02:13, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
16 lb CCC
(Familiar) pulls a piece of cotton candy off his chest and offers it to you. Maybe he just had something to get off his chest . . . anyway, the candy's pretty refreshing. You gain 20 hit points. You gain 19 Mana Points.
17 lb
(Familiar) pulls a piece of cotton candy off his head and offers it to you. Mmm, candy dandruff! It's suspiciously refreshing. You gain 14 hit points. You gain 14 Mana Points.
18 lb
Another from the chest, 24 HP & 11 MP this time.
(Familiar) pulls a piece of cotton candy off his leg and offers it to you. You're pretty sure this isn't candy everybody wants, but you eat it anyway. It's curiously refreshing. You gain 20 hit points. You gain 13 Mana Points.
Ok, so the range is looking pretty much exactly ghoul whelp-ish, down to triggering about half the time. I'll put new messages in, but no numbers unless I find somehting that breaks that assumption. --Valliant 00:46, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
When entered into the Ultimate Cage Match I received this as a message: <name> doesn't have any claws or laser beams -- or any bones or muscles -- so he's not an effective fighter. --TheMadBombchu
Anyone tried using a clan claw machine with this familiar equipped?--Tombot 09:55, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
I know this familiar's rather old, but I just noticed...the Crown of Thrones message, with it throwing a cotton candy bale and talking about it being distracting that you're "on their set", is very likely a reference to Christian Bale's on-set freakouts. I didn't edit it though, as I'm not exactly sure how to phrase it and fit the wiki's style, as it were. --Jimfromtx (talk) 08:36, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
Rates?
Did some observing over 20 adventures, averaging 35.14% block from 15-21 pounds. Also, 40% ghoul whelp heal rate. Will add more once it reaches 20lb. --Wolfin 01:31, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
- Your spading effort is, of course, appreciated, but you generally want a sample size of something much more than 20 adventures before you can estimate any numbers. Regardless, however, thanks for your findings! --Southwest 02:36, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
- Yeah, I stopped 'cause I realized it was fruitless without having a base 20lb CCC. Just thought I'd throw up what I found. --Wolfin 04:09, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
Cotton Candy Something-Or-Others
What'cha Got | Familiar Weight |
---|---|
cotton candy pinch | 2, 3 |
cotton candy smidgen | 5, 6, 7, 9 |
cotton candy skoshe | 10, 11, 12 |
cotton candy plug | 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 |
cotton candy cone | 20, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29 |
cotton candy pillow | 30, 31, 35, 37 |
cotton candy bale | 41, 53, 81 |
Have at it. Pulling the other item names from the Items by Number page. --TechSmurf 02:46, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
- I've gotten 10 candies so far today, and I haven't seen one for 35 turns-- it's been healing me, even at full health/MP. Hard limit? --TechSmurf 03:39, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
- Ditto---10 candies (6 cones, 4 plugs) in about 200 turns, the last 50-100 with no drops. --Fig bucket 05:46, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
- Thirded, 8 cones and 2 pillows after 200ish combats at full hp/mp --Murmur 08:24, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
- If we number each item from 0 (smidgen) to 6 (bale), then it's looking like up to weight 19 it drops floor(weight/5), for weight 20 up it drops max(floor(weight/10)+2,6). Alternatively, as a single formula, max(floor(weight/5)-floor(min(0,weight-15)/10),6) --Fig bucket 06:25, 8 August 2008 (CDT)
Fun little extra: The half-weight curse of the NS also affects which cotton candy piece you can get. My 25-pound CCC just gave me a skoshe. --Sparksol (t|c) 09:02, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
