Talk:Crazy little Turkish delight

From A KoL Wiki

another connection here would be the fact that freddy mercury was persian as noted here thus connecting it nicely with the queen deal--Thecloudyone 01:55, 4 December 2006 (CST)

From what I remember, I thought it was Edmund that liked Turkish Delights, and not the queen.Samika 05:46, 30 August 2006 (CDT)

  • Yes, it was Edmund who wanted the Turkish Delight, it was his favorite - I've editted the Reference accordingly. ^_^ --Bork 15:50, 30 August 2006 (CDT)

Could the "and wonder where you can get one" bit refer to the scarcity of turkeys in the Kingdom? --IcLubYou 08:18, 1 September 2006 (CDT)

  • probably hasn't got much to do with either "domesticated turkey" drinks or the "hand turkey" familiar. i'd say it's just the idea of a delighted turkey seemed sorta funny when Jick was writing the text. --Shokwave 08:48, 1 September 2006 (CDT)

"Turkish delight is referenced in the novelty song "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)," covered by They Might Be Giants: "Istanbul was Constantinople/ Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople/ Been a long time gone, Constantinople/ Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night."" Why is this included? Must we reference every TMBG song that contains words in KoL? This is clearly a Queen/Narnia reference, and not a TMBG one. Mr. Blonde 03:15, 3 October 2006 (CDT)

  • I agree. If there was a reference to a "moonlit night" or something similar, this would be accurate, but as it is, it's unrelated.--DoctorWorm 15:13, 27 October 2006 (CDT)

The eaten message has been changed - unfortunately, I don't quite remember exactly what it says, and I'm full so I can't check now - I'll post it tomorow if nobody else does by then. --Deetviper 17:33, 28 February 2007 (CST)

Narnia Reference

The Narnia reference does exist, as this item drops from the Snow Queen. However, since nothing within the actual content of this item references Narnia, the question is whether or not this reference belongs here, belongs on the Snow Queen page, or both. What do others think? --Fryguy9 14:18, 5 April 2007 (CDT)

New discription

I was looking at the discription of this item in the mall, and it seems to have changed. I wonder if this change forshadows absolutely nothing? The new discription is this:

  • This is a thoroughly crazy, entirely small confection made of gelatin and powdered sugar. So, basically, hooves and sticks. It tastes better than it sounds.

And by the by, "hooves and sticks" is a reference to gelatin being made of cow hooves, and sugar coming from sugar cane. I'm not sure when this happened, or the correct procedure, but if someone who knows how could change it, I'd appreciat it.--Munkel (talk) 10:30, 1 May 2007 (CDT)

  • Updating item descriptions is straightforward - just edit the item page and drop the new description into the {{item}} block, replacing the old description. --Quietust (t|c) 10:48, 1 May 2007 (CDT)
