Talk:Crimbo Town Toy Factory (2007)
Adventuring with a Unionize The Elves sign equiped does nothing. --AlephYin 01:04, 13 December 2007 (CST)
Furry suit definitely lowers the damage I take as a level 16 pastamancer. JohnCub 07:00, 13 December 2007 (CST)
I've noticed that to-kill damage is just above my buffed moxie. Last one took 186, the coup from a 7hp spell, buffed moxie is 175. (L14Pasta) (Same moxie, just one-hit killed for 183) --Blastphemist 14:47, 13 December 2007 (CST)
I used the furry suit. This has made the biggest difference so far.. I went from 150+ a hit to 15+ a hit. However the drawback is you don't gain the same stats. I have also found range weapons not useful. Bors
Try using the Drowsy sword. Makes things much easier. Moxious Maneuver is tremendously useful against scaling monsters (provided you're a moxie class, obviously). Just crank up your moxie really high, leave your Muscle where it is (their hp is based on your own hp, not moxie; I'd never be one-shotting them with a mere 1100 damage when my moxie is over 1500), and maneuver the elfborg into oblivion for insane stat gains. Also, these guys should be functionally identical to the elfbots from last Crimbo. --Flargen 00:19, 14 December 2007 (CST)
On the contrary, I actually use reagent potions to increase my moxie, and then moxious maneuver-kill them in one hit. +Stats
Oh wait, never mind, you've already said that.--Shademaster00 21:33, 14 December 2007 (CST)
Item drops have become infrequent the more time I spend there. I got 1 synthetic stuffing from about 10 battles, and no LED blocks in the past 25 or so. I've tried taking off my item drop +x% items, but to no effect. Can anyone else confirm this?--Serge85
- You could just be having bad luck. The elfbots had item drop rates of about 10%. It's not out of the question that you could have protracted dry spells even with decent +items. It would be an interesting mechanic to make drop rates decrease until you spend some number of adventures in other locations, but I'm doubtful this is what they did. --Flargen 03:00, 17 December 2007 (CST)
What I want to know is, are these affected by ML modifiers? I'm omw to lvl30 and with Wave of Sauce + Saucegeyser, buffed with saucespheres, I even gain MP from each fight. So I buffed with Ur-Kel annoyance buff hoping for extra stats. So, are ML changing effects affecting the scaling monsters? --Ferdawoon 04:39, 20 December 2007 (CST)
- According to Special Monsters, +ML doesn't have an effect with scaling monsters. You could easily verify this by buffing +ML and keeping track of your total stat gains on a non-stat day. --Bagatelle 19:11, 20 December 2007 (CST)
- If you want more stats then increase your moxie. --Flargen 03:29, 23 December 2007 (CST)
Factory closed early?
It seems the factory is no longer available for adventuring as of rollover today (Petember 5). I don't know if it's global, or if it's because I've completed the Sinister Dodecahedron. --Itsatrap 00:17, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- I don't know if it's global, but i would guess so since they didn't want to make the event farmable. --Chunky_boo 00:19, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- Uncle Crimbo asks if you'll take out the "creepy elfborgs left in the shop". Shouldn't this suggest that the toy factory still be open?
- It's global. Even if you haven't yet completed the Sinister Dodecahedron. Dammit. --Baltar 04:21, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- The picture description still has the (1) by it though. I hope that it was closed by accident. --Santasassassin 04:53, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- Uncle Crimbo still says "Oh, hey, there are still a few creepy elfborgs in the workshop, though. Would you mind taking 'em out for me, kid?" though. What does that mean? --Jleedev 08:48, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- That's because Mr. Skullhead wrote the content under the assumption it would be open, and Jick is apparently working under the assumption that it's closed. See this thread here: forum thread--Keith 01:14, 26 December 2007 (CST)
