Talk:Crimbo pressie

Infinite fruitcake

Gasp... here's how it works.
You need a:
Dungeons of Doom wand,
100 meat per day,
a tenderizing hammer,
and wrapping paper.
Smith wrappimg paper with pants kit(100 meat), zap with wand. Crimbo pressie! Use. Fruitcake! Continue next day.

  • This is hardly infinite. I can think of a lot better uses for a DD wand. Not only does it rely on the RNG giving you the correct zap, its once per day.

On a serious note though, is this zapping information correct? Should the crimbo outfit (and not the pressie) be inter-zappable? --Eugene 14:24, 13 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

  • Hmm, I'm trying this zap thing, and after eight zaps with all three items in my inventory it doesn't look like it's using the same mechanic as everything else. I'm prepared to continue with it, but how many times would be enough for disproof? One thing is true, though, the crimbo sword is zappable both ways into the set. Another piece of evidence for it being just the crimbo duds. Perhaps it was a crimbo thing? Evilkolbot 14:31, 7 March 2006 (CST)
  • Another week another twenty or so zaps. I guess that just because I've never got a Baio doesn't mean that they don't drop, no matter how many times I try. If someone tells me they drop at the Icy Peak, though, how can I disprove it? Is there some way to check stuff with Jick or Xeno? Evilkolbot 11:59, 14 March 2006 (CST)
  • In other news, if true, wouldn't the zappability have affected the price of wrapping paper? Evilkolbot 12:00, 14 March 2006 (CST)
  • Unless the odds of getting a wrapping paper are less than 1 in 4, 10 zaps is enough to proof for me (95%). I think 20 zaps means a 99.7% certainty that it's not 1 in 4. No other item (except keys) is unevenly distributed. --Crowther 12:25, 14 March 2006 (CST)
  • The "except keys" is very telling, since bizarre and exceptional mechanics are what make this game so playable. Evilkolbot 07:01, 15 March 2006 (CST)
