Talk:Crimborg Assault Armor
For the record..I haven't been seeing the extra +20 on anything other than what the base outfit gives. Qaianna 02:57, 24 December 2007 (CST)
I think someone was fighting spooky monsters when they recorded it. I'm changing the effect to 'unknown'. Mr. Blonde 03:02, 24 December 2007 (CST)
Profile Image
- At the moment the outfit image doesn't show up on the public or private profile and is only shown on the left side bar, I have reported this as a bug but I think it should be added to the notes section of this page as a record but I am not sure how to edit the outfit template to do so. --Stroby 07:17, 24 December 2007 (CST)
Is it just me or does the outfit image look more than a little like Judge Dredd? I thought I's ask first before arbitrarily throwing up the reference.--Stevenskistg 22:24, 24 December 2007 (CST)
Outfit effect
I'm totally guessing here, but I think it could be increased chance of combat encounters. --Keeko1642 09:10, 24 December 2007 (CST)
- I've tested this, the outfit does not increase or decrease the combat rate.--QuantumNightmare 13:59, 26 December 2007 (CST)
- The Assault Armor does not give extra Hot and Stench Damage beyond the +20 it gives because of the items (I tested this on a multi.) Therefore, I edited that comment out about the effect.--Penguin Overlord 10:20, 24 December 2007 (CST)
Just out of idle curiosity, does anyone think it might have an effect in PvP? --Alienmarky 11:38, 24 December 2007 (CST)
Could it be that the outfit effect, like the effects of the pants and weapon, hasn't been implemented yet and will appear sometime this afternoon?--Mixolydian 1:49, 24 December 2007 (EST)
Just in case anyone wasn't already aware of this, it doesn't affect stats at all--Gondall 13:32, 24 December 2007 (CST)
Perhaps it has the same effect as Crimbo Duds and Tropical Crimbo Duds? Jick confirmed those as being identical on an '06 radio show, so continuing the pattern would make sense. But even if that is true, we still wouldn't know the effect. The duds don't have a confirmed effect as far as I know. Rotarran 17:07, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- It's entirely possible none of the outfits have an additional effect. --The 3000th flare 18:31, 30 December 2007 (CST)
- Jick made a change a while to give every outfit an additional effect, I believe. --TechSmurf 19:08, 30 December 2007 (CST)
Not guessing: it restores MP! I haven't tried with only one piece of the armor. I'm not a real spader. :-) BUT level 19 Pastamancer wearing this: biomechanical crimborg helmet, hipposkin poncho, C.B.F.G., biomechanical crimborg leg armor, Baron von Ratsworth's monocle, lucky rabbit's foot, lucky rabbit's foot, Familiar: Dandy Lion with woolen cravat. Effects: Aloysius' Antiphon of Aptitude, Tenacity of the Snapper , Empathy, Jabañero Saucesphere, Jalapeño Saucesphere, Astral Shell, Elemental Saucesphere, Ghostly Shell, Reptilian Fortitude. I had Crimboween Pentagram as Accessory 1, took it off after 5 turns. I switched from Haunted Bathroom to conservatory to Billiards Room. I got these MP increases: 18, 21, 146, 1, 2, 103, 132, 27, 19, 241. The 1 and 2 must have come from the Crimboween Pentagram, so I took it off. I won several battles and got no MP whatsoever. NOTE I did not include the several turns of zero MP restore. --StorellaDeville 13:19, 26 December 2007 (CST)
I'm trying with that one of my characters, and am not seeing the MP increase. Are you sure that the Dandy Lion isn't boosting your MP?--Foggy 13:40, 26 December 2007 (CST)
Glad you asked. I've run dozens of turns and seen not one announcement of the lion's activities. I've been watching for them, but none. Gosh, what to make of that? Ah, but nonetheless, I've never seen a lion restore over 200 MP. --StorellaDeville 13:47, 26 December 2007 (CST)
In ~ 50 turns of testing, I'm getting zero MP regen. You must have had a secondary source of MP.--QuantumNightmare 13:59, 26 December 2007 (CST)
Ran two dozen turns in Menagerie 1. Added effect, Stenchtastic. No equipment at all except the Crimborg outfit. No familiar. And no MP restore. :( So I put Dandy Lion back on, got some zeroes and then 28MP with no lion announcement. More zeroes, then 265 MP. Still no clue why (other than what I'm giving you here). Took the lion off, 15 turns with no +MP. Full, drunk, and spleened. Took two vitachoconutriment capsules, got Afternoon Insight. 8 more turns, still no +MP. Gee, I hope I'm some help. What? Silent super-lion? --StorellaDeville 14:19, 26 December 2007 (CST)
- Yeah, I just tried another few turns with nothing on but the outfit. It's definitely not MP restoration. --TechSmurf 16:10, 26 December 2007 (CST)
Good one! KoLmafia v11.8 set to Auto-recover mana at 0%, up to 30% (I usually hate it to do that for me, so I've changed it to NOT!). Also, I got really weird amounts: +28, +103, +19, +265. Maybe it's a new silent effect called WTF. All of this was on Snugglemonster (#1150628). --StorellaDeville 09:30, 28 December 2007 (CST)
reference
Does anyone see a simalarity with this outfit and robocop? --Emperornortonii 10:55, 14 December 2007 (CST)
Tattoo
The tattoo is definitely a reference to Halo. If anyone gets the tattoo and has played Halo, it's obvious, I have t say.--Aznpride 01:07, 27 December 2007 (CST)
The tattoo resembles the emblem of the Borg from Star Trek, turned by 90 degrees to the left. --Yuumi 18:28, 4 January 2008 (CST)
The tattoo image name is "halotat.gif". What this references was never in debate. --Flargen 21:01, 4 January 2008 (CST)
The tattoo looks more like the emblem from the Halo series, without the need of any rotations. Just type in "Halo logo" on Google.--Aznpride 17:34, 6 January 2008 (CST)
Game References
Right, so we know theres references to Halo [tattoo] and DooM/numerous copies of the weapon [C.B.F.G.]. are there any other FPS games that are referenced by it? I'm not too learned in the ways of FPS games to know what else there is. --Reapaninja 17:51, 4 February 2008 (CST)
