Talk:Darkness (The Sorceress' Tower)

From A KoL Wiki

The hit message is "It shifts into a form that reminds you of your Uncle Al. You're not sure why, but you start sobbing uncontrollably." or "It changes into the image of a grotesque grinning clown. It reminds you of this one time when you were little and got lost at the circus, and the memory makes you freak out really badly." --Blastphemist 02:41, 10 July 2007 (CDT)

The top should read your fighting the darkness not a the darkness. Discordance 08:10, 11 July 2007 (CDT)

you probably shouldnt have a prep sword equipped when fighting this guy... when i first fought him i got "the bully who used to beat you off in grade school" which was kinda disturbing :)--Frankfly 15:12, 15 July 2007 (CDT)

Has anyone actually tried casting Magic Missile on it to see if it does anything new? Banjooie 16:11, 15 July 2007 (CDT)

  • Yup, I tried it twice. Nothing different.--SeeSaw 17:35, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Another reference - compare it with the Darkness in the tooth fairy's tower from Hogfather (Terry Pratchett). Something tat transforms itself into your worst fear, including that of a school bully? --Iangb 16:09, 31 July 2007 (CDT)

Rorschach tests

I have corrected the explanation of the reference, because of common misconceptions. In fact, Rorschach test cards *resemble* inkblots, but are in fact 10 prints, and every time someone administers a test, they show the patient the same cards in the same order. They write down if the patient turns the card (a bad sign!) and take down everything the patient does, from shifting in their seat to sneezing. What this proves about their mental health I'll never know. In fact, if anyone ever tries to give you one of these, and you tell them that you've seen the cards, if the psychologist has any code of conduct they will not administer the test, since your responses are supposed to be spontaneous. 22:17, 27 November 2007 (CST)
