Talk:Demonic Taint
Doesn't seem to add damage. I've been testing it with combat frequency, but I haven't gotten definitive results yet.
Using monster bait, reodorant, and musk, I got a noncombat in the Haunted Bathroom, before I realized the discrepancy in combat%. If the ~85% figure is correct, then Demonic Taint increases noncombats. However, if the 75% figure is correct (which I feel it may be, anecdotally), this doesn't prove anything.
In 10 adventures with bait/reodorant/musk and DT, I didn't get any noncombats. I can resummon and try tomorrow, which should either prove DT increases noncombats, or the 86.1% rate of combat in the Haunted Bathroom is wrong. --RandomPrecision 02:23, 6 July 2007 (CDT)
No noncombats at the peak. Comparing damage taken, it might increase damage absorption by some amount? The description reminded me somewhat of Tao, and I seem to take slightly less damage with taint, with a trial of 15 adventures with the effect and 15 adventures without. I hadn't debuffed moxie to a point with less-diminished returns to make this plain, but my mean, minimum, and maximum damages were lower under the effect. --RandomPrecision 02:58, 7 July 2007 (CDT)
No one has updated here in a while. But doesn't stench normally equate to +combats (not +noncombats). Think Hippy Stench or Musk of the Moose. I haven't spaded yet, but that would be my thinking. --Mighty Xerxes 10:30, 7 September 2007 (CDT)
It adds +30 Stench Damage to melee or ranged attacks. Don't know what it does to spells, if anything. --Discoshen 12:40, 9 September 2007 (PDT)
Are you sure you didn't have other +stench damage effects active, Discoshen? It just strikes me as odd that the first few spading attempts would miss something that obvious, unless it wasn't correctly implemented until just recently.--Joeisme 18:07, 22 September 2007 (CDT)
- I can confirm that it is +30 Stench Damage when using a renaged weapon and in case you think that it is my equipment I was wearing Cerebal Cloche, Bat-Ass Leather Jacket, Cerebal Crossbow, 2-Ball, Cerebal Culottes, badass belt, Porquoise braclet, and porquoise ring. --Chunky_boo 18:43, 22 September 2007 (CDT)
Yeah, I definately wasn't getting that before - stench damage was the first thing I looked for, but I didn't have any bonus elemental damage at all when I was testing it. --RandomPrecision 14:26, 3 December 2007 (CST)
