Talk:Disco Bandit
How does the game calculate MP and HP for this character? CrystallineH posted 21 Feb 2006
I believe it's just straight-up Mus/Mys, with no multipliers. I'll need to double-check next time I ascend into a Mox class, but I'm pretty sure that's it.--LoopyChew 04:04, 21 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

From the announcement, it looked like the new Crossbow Fever skill's effect (the +1 damage) has replaced, not supplemented, the to-hit bonus. If this is true, then the skill information needs to be edited.
Not currently playing a Disco Bandit, however, I'm not sure if it was a replacement or an addition, so I'm not the authority. --Patware 06:12, 24 May 2006 (PST)
Advanced Cocktailcrafting edit
I've added the bonus which Superhuman Cocktailcrafting provides to Advanced Cocktailcrafting (+2 items to summon per day) to both skills. /Roman_the_evil
Reference
I'm going to restore the reference to the disco bandits in that arg. Feel free to discuss here why it is a wrong reference, before deleting it again, please. (-- Somebody)
- Obviously not a reference. Time doesn't run backwards, remember... Disco Bandit is older than your reference. --Andemon 05:07, 15 December 2006 (CST)
- Oh? Then show me something about "Disco Bandits" which predates KoL. Until then, I think that it fits in perfectly.--Linktoreality 19:50, 16 December 2006 (CST)
- Um. No? Because there's nothing else that references to it, doesn't mean that it automatically makes it a "reference". How the hell do you create something /two and a half years/ BEFORE an event, which was just someone doing something in a ARG event (which, by the by, I was a watcher of, so I do know what's going on there) as a BASIS of that thing? To put it bluntly, this is a ridiculously silly argument. It's not remotely a reference; if anything it's a reference in the reverse direction. You simply don't put information in because there's nothing else to put there, especially if it's not correct information. --Aprocalypse 20:26, 16 December 2006 (CST)
- Pardon? You seem to be misunderstanding. The whole point was that the EVENT from Complex City was a reference to KoL. However, as it's the first time anything has referenced KoL rather than vice versa, (at least, so far as I know) it seemed rather appropriate to mention here. --Linktoreality 21:47, 16 December 2006 (CST)
- Then it seems perfectly appropriate to be included in the Perplex City wiki. Which this wiki is not. --J12601 22:18, 16 December 2006 (CST)
- Hmm. Also, I just noticed that whoever first changed my addition got rid of my "Counter-Reference" point.--Linktoreality 21:50, 16 December 2006 (CST)

- Also, the burden of proof lies with the claimer. i.e.: "I show you proof of U.F.O, therefore they exist," and not "You can't produce proof for the non-existence of U.F.O's, therefore they exist." So, in other words, show the link between said reference and KoL exist beyond their namesake, then add the reference, and not add it then bitch when others delete it. --Yehman 20:32, 16 December 2006 (CST)
- You also seem to be misunderstanding my point. See my reply to Aprocalypse to understand better. By the way, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't accuse me of "bitching". I simply wished to actually talk this through, rather than just having a revert-war. --Linktoreality 21:47, 16 December 2006 (CST)
- I apologize if the wording is too strong, feel free to replace it with 'complain.' My feeling is if you truly wished to "talk this through," it would've been more cordial if you had actually had a complete discussion in here before re-reverting anything. Otherwise it makes this 'discussion' rather non-existent. My point was that you seem more intent on keeping the reference up and hammering your point-of-view than actually listen. --Yehman 18:56, 17 December 2006 (CST)
- The "References" section has existed to explain what is going if something in KoL references something, since it wouldn't make as much sense without that explanation. Your "Counter-Reference" (although probably poorly named) is a horse of a completely different color and an attempt to list all the things that refer to this subject. I suggest you discuss or propose this before adding it and then subsequently triple-reverting things. Personally, I don't like that idea; there are lots of thing in the KoL subculture that will obviously reference KoL and could eventually lead to uncontrolled proliferation of vanity "references" like KoL-based comics and games splattered all over the wiki.--Dehstil (t|c) 00:35, 17 December 2006 (CST)

Disco Move Damage
The damage for the two Dances (and possibly more) seems to have been... changed. Eyepoke/Facestab have been doing what looks like regular damage, but I've seen DDII go as far down as 1 (!?) point of damage against the Castle Giants (no physical resistance there) when the expected damage is 8-10.
- You bust an extremely adept disco move. Your opponent sustains 1 damage, and looks very confused.
And stranger yet, using Eyepoke's damage (expected 1-3) seems to be boosted when finishing as a combo:
- You bust an extremely adept disco move. Your opponent sustains 4 damage, and looks very confused.
- You follow up your boogaloo with a fierce poke to your opponent's eye, dealing 7 damage. He cries out in pain.
Terion noticed similar behaviour on Talk:Disco Dance of Doom. --Bagatelle 17:01, 31 May 2008 (CDT)
Skill Costs
All the class pages still contain the line "The skills from levels 1-4 cost 200, 800, 1800, and 3200 Meat respectively to learn, while all higher level skills cost 1,000 per level". This is no longer true. Just bringing it to the attention of someone who wont mess up a rewrite. (Aka not me) --Acinixys Planicauda 19:06, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- All fixed up now. Added a new column to the tables with the train cost for each skill, since I couldn't think of a way to concisely express costs in a formula. Wrldwzrd89 20:27, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
